A Dream at Pynes House
I’m thrilled to share some exciting news: my work has made it to the front cover of Wed Magazine!
Being featured is an honour in itself, but to see my photography highlighted in such a prestigious publication is truly a dream come true.
This stunning editorial shoot, co-ordinated by myself, Jade from Ivyhouse Photography, took place at the enchanting Pynes House in Exeter—a venue that epitomises timeless elegance and Devon’s historic charm. Collaborating on this project was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the potential of Pynes House as a versatile wedding venue, and it turned into a visual celebration of romance and creativity.
The Vision Behind the Shoot
The vision for this shoot was inspired by the grandeur of the location. The team meticulously crafted a concept that was both romantic and opulent, drawing on the venue’s rich history and picturesque surroundings. With its sweeping staircase, period interiors, and beautiful gardens, Pynes House was the perfect backdrop for the editorial, offering so many incredible spots to capture that "wow" factor.
The styled shoot was designed to offer inspiration for couples seeking a blend of classic and contemporary wedding aesthetics. We wanted the shoot to ooze British class, but with a hint of an Italian Summer wedding, because who doesn't love an Italian romantic vibe?
Creating Magic Through Collaboration
It’s no secret that styled shoots like these are a collaborative endeavour, we had an incredibly talented team of florists, stylists, and designers came together to create a cohesive look that balanced delicate floral arrangements with bold, luxurious details. Including an incredible floral dress from Champagne & Charlotte Bridal Boutique. Every professional involved brought their best to the table, and it’s their expertise that made this shoot so incredibly beautiful.
Being behind the lens for such a thoughtfully curated project was a delight. The editorial’s color palette—soft blushes, muted greens, and pops of spring colour —was elevated by the natural light that streamed through the venue’s grand windows, creating a dreamlike atmosphere. Each frame told a story of elegance, sophistication, and the joy of celebrating love.
A Devon Photographer’s Dream
For me, capturing this shoot felt like a culmination of everything I love about wedding photography: the artistry, the emotions, storytelling, and the power of a well-planned vision. Pynes House is one of Devon’s true gems, and to photograph a styled wedding shoot here, alongside some of the best in the industry, was truly special.
