A Picture-Perfect Wedding at Deer Park, Honiton: A glorious outdoor ceremony, colourful florals, smoke bombs & saxophones!
As a wedding photographer in Devon, I’m very blessed with incredible venues, stunning scenery, and couples who truly know how to celebrate their love in style. Laura & Toby's wedding at Deer Park in Honiton, stood out as an all time favourite, for its energy, atmosphere, and sheer joy. From start to finish, it was a day filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

Now when I tell you that these florals were like magic, this cannot be more true. The most stunning, colourful, vibrant florals paired with beautiful pinks and purples, really did make for a gorgeous bridal party! Laura & Toby had a vision of the day to be just fun, vibrant and party like - they love Ibiza and the vibes there, so they just wanted it to be like a big giant party, and that is exactly what they did!
A Glorious Outdoor Ceremony
The day began under perfect sunny skies, with the ceremony taking place outside on Deer Park’s lush grounds at the Summer House. The couple exchanged their vows in a setting that felt like something out of a fairy tale. The weather couldn’t have been better—clear skies, warm sunshine, and a gentle breeze made for an idyllic backdrop. As a photographer, capturing the natural light in this beautiful outdoor space was an absolute dream. Every smile, every tear, and every joyful glance between the couple was bathed in that golden sunlight, adding a natural glow to every shot.
Energetic Guests & Smoke Bomb Fun!
One of the things that made this wedding so special was the energy from the guests. From the moment they arrived, there was a sense of excitement in the air. You could feel it building throughout the day, culminating in some fantastic moments after the ceremony.
The bridal party, full of enthusiasm, decided to take things up a notch by incorporating smoke bombs into their group photos! Bright bursts of colour filled the air, creating vibrant, fun, and truly dynamic images. This playful addition brought a creative twist to the classic bridal party shots, and everyone loved being part of the spectacle.
The couple also arranged for a beer pong table to be a part of their drinks reception, which went down a storm with all the guests taking part!
A Champagne Spray to Celebrate
What’s a wedding without a little champagne? To really get the party started, the couple decided to celebrate with a champagne spray! There’s something so exhilarating about capturing that moment when the bottle pops and the champagne flies—it's pure joy in liquid form. These candid shots were full of laughter, excitement, and that “we did it!” energy. It’s those in-between moments that often end up being some of the most memorable images from the day.
Golden Hour Magic
As the day transitioned into evening, we took advantage of the gorgeous golden hour for a relaxed and intimate photo session with the couple. This is always one of my favourite parts of a wedding day as the light softens and creates that warm, romantic glow. We wandered through the grounds of Deer Park, stopping at a few key spots for portraits that captured the love and connection between the couple. The golden light was perfect, and the peacefulness of this moment after such a lively day made it truly magical.
Dancing into the Night
The perfect end to this incredible day was the reception, where the couple and their guests danced the night away. The couple were joined by saxophonist Daniel Costin performing live, with his party anthem saxophone melodies that set the tone for an unforgettable evening, turning the dance floor into a vibrant party. Guests couldn’t resist the rhythm, and soon, everyone was up and moving, creating an electric atmosphere that carried through the night! And of course, I was there boogeying the night away capturing all the fun!
A Wedding to Remember
This Deer Park wedding was the perfect blend of elegance, fun, and energy. From the sun-drenched outdoor ceremony to the creative smoke bomb photos, the champagne spray, the golden hour session, and a dance floor alive with the sounds of a saxophone, every part of the day was bursting with life and love. As a photographer, it’s days like these that remind me why I love what I do—capturing the unique moments and emotions that make each wedding day one-of-a-kind.
